My name is Jason Anthony and I am an independent artist based in the New Forest in Hampshire England designing and creating bespoke pieces of furniture and art.
My work consists of my own unique designs and collaborations with clients on commission. I have worked with a wide range of materials and I now specialise in an eclectic mix of seasoned wood and resin. I believe that this mix brings out the unique characteristics of the grain in each piece of hand selected wood. Every creation that leaves my workshop is hand-crafted by myself, to the highest quality, and I take pride in my attention to detail. There are no robots or production lines, just me the craftsman.
In 2013, a significant change occurred in my working life and I had the opportunity to reflect on how I wanted to live the rest of my life.
Having had a career in IT for 27 years with the last 20 working in London and spending nearly half the year traveling around the world, I wanted a change from the hustle and bustle of corporate life for the tranquility of the New Forest where my family home is located. Having always had a creative mind and a keen interest in woodworking, in 2013 I turned my hobby and passion into a full-time business crafting unique pieces of furniture and art.
I am lucky enough to live and have a studio in the New Forest, a national park in Hampshire, and a short drive from the south coast.
I am so fortunate to be located in this beautiful part of the country and have such an amazing array of natural beauty on my doorstep to inspire me. From the tranquility of the New Forest, with its wonderful array of flora, forna and quaint villages, to the rugged coastline and ferocious seas of the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO world heritage site that stretches from Orcombe Point in East Devon and Studland Bay in Dorset. Growing up as a child in the area, I have always been struck by the natural beauty of the rugged Jurassic Coast.
I love nothing more than wrapping up warm in the winter and going for a walk along the coast. As a child my father would always wake us at 4am after a big storm to travel to the Jurassic Coast around Charmouth so we could be the first on the beach at the crack of dawn to seek the new rocks that had been washed up in the storm and hopefully find the ones that contained Fossils.
Moving to the New Forest in recent years I have become even more acquainted and inspired by the New Forest. It is such a tranquil place to visit where you will be sure to bump into an array of wildlife, including ponies, cattle and deer. I love heading out to the forest with my family for a leisurely walk, ending up at a quaint local pub.
I am blessed being able to take inspiration from, and work in such a beautiful part of the country.
I greatly appreciate you stopping by and wish you well.
With warm regards,
